Except for Indian nationals, every foreigner must have a valid passport and visa to enter Nepal. You can obtain your visa at the Immigration office after landing at Tribhuvan International Airport. On the other hand, if you are entering Nepal by road, you can get your visa from border crossings. The border crossings are Mahendranagar (Kanchanpur district), Dhangadi (Kailali district), Nepalgunj (Banke district), Sunauli (Rupandehi district),Birgunj (Parsa district), Rasuwagadhi (Rasuwa district) orKakarbhitta (Jhapa District).

You can also obtain your visa from Nepalese Diplomatic missionaries in your own country. As the Immigration office can be very crowded during peak seasons, you can opt to obtain your visa beforehand.

For Chinese nationals, holders of Diplomatic and official passport of the People’s Republic of China do not require a visa to visit Nepal for up to one month. For other nationals, the tourist visa will cost USD 30 for 15 days, USD 50 for 30 days, and USD 125 for 90 days.
