Trekking through the Himalayas requires specific gears to make all the walking comfortable. Necessary equipment for trekking includes hiking poles to lessen the impact on your joints, hiking gaiter to protect your lower leg and ankles. Porters find it easier to carry duffle bags, so if possible, pack your belongings in such bags. Sleeping bags, water bottles, heavy down jackets, a backpack of around 60l, and a headlamp with a couple of extra batteries are other necessary equipment for trekking. Trekkers are also required to carry water purification tablets, lotions, and a primary first aid kid.
